Adobe Creative Cloud Features

I’ve been using Adobe Creative Cloud for a long time now as a professional graphic designer and Twitter manager for my company. I’ve found some features that make it worth using.

  • Subscription-based: You get access to all 20+ apps in Adobe CC and pay for a monthly subscription rather than paying a hefty amount all at once for a lifetime. There are no separate charges for upgrades and you can cancel the subscription anytime you think you don’t want to use it further.
  • Free online storage: You get 20 GB of free online storage, meaning you can access your work on any device. However, this is not applicable on the Photoshop/Lightroom deal.
  • Optional update: It’s up to you whether you want the software to update or not according to your convenience as it’s not automatic.
  • All in one: You get access to apps related to photography, editing, video motion, design and layout, UI UX, 3D as well as social media graphics. These apps let you create outstanding visual outcomes. This is probably my favorite feature.
  • Creative templates: You can store brand-specific templates on the cloud and use them whenever.
  • Business subscription: The Adobe business subscription is by far the best feature personally. It allows you to collaborate with fellow designers or teammates online and you don’t even have to save files locally. You can earn royalties if you have assets on Adobe Stock with minor legal formalities. Hence, you have an earning opportunity through your visuals.

Personally, I love the business subscription model a lot because I get to monetize my artwork. I also like the monthly subscription as I don’t have to pay a huge amount on every app upgrade and just cancel subscriptions during the months I’m not working.

Downsides of Adobe Creative Cloud

While there are many benefits of using the Adobe CC softwares, there are also a few things that I didn’t like. Check them out below:

  • Buying a single software will be costlier. Suppose you only use 3 apps out of the 20+ apps available on Adobe CC then you’ll be charged more than the entire package.
  • No option to purchase standalone apps for professionals who’re interested in only one particular graphics tool.
  • Only 2 GB storage access after canceling the subscription. If you have used more than 2 GB of free storage limit then you’ll have to remove them or you might lose access to all of it.
  • If you’re not a professional, this might not be the ideal software package as it’s too expensive and requires more than a beginner’s level of understanding in visual design.

Plans and Pricing of Adobe Creative Cloud

In the creative industry, Adobe is king which is why it’s valued at a high price. It offers more than just cloud storage and is top-notch for creating visuals for sharing on Twitter, Instagram etc.

  • Monthly: Monthly subscription plan is for $82.49 and you can cancel it anytime without any fees. However, if you cancel the subscription after 14 days then you’ll not receive a refund and the service will continue till the end of one month’s period. This includes the entire app suite with 100 GB of storage. Students and teachers can avail of the entire Adobe suite for $19.99 a month with an additional $2.99 a month for 20 GB storage. The business subscription costs $84.99 per user a month and gives up to 1 TB of storage space.
  • Annual, Paid Monthly: This is an annual subscription of Adobe CC but you pay an amount of $54.99 monthly. There’s an early termination fee if you cancel after 14 days of subscription and you can avail of the service till the month’s end billing period.
  • Annual, Prepaid: In this subscription pack, you pay for an annual subscription at the start which is priced at $599.88 annually. If you wish to cancel your subscription after 14 days then you won’t receive any refund and the service will be provided to you till the end of the contract period.

With each subscription, you can add a 30-day free trial of Adobe Stock and get about 10 free assets. You can cancel this anytime before your trial period and you won’t be required to pay anything extra.

In case you want to purchase it after your trial period then you’ll be charged $359.88 per year after the trial period.

There are various types of schools and university packages as well that provide affordable licensing options starting at $330.00 per year.

Interface and Utility of Adobe Creative Cloud

The Adobe Creative Cloud’s interface is pretty easy to use and also consists of step-by-step tutorials to guide you on how to get started.

We should keep in mind that Adobe CC is more of a creative platform than a storage platform. Hence, it’s good for immediate collaborators rather than file storage for a longer period of time.

MacOS external files aren’t supported in the Adobe CC but mostly other web GUI files are well-supported. The software in the Adobe CC suite are all very interactive and has high-performance abilities, unlike other alternative software. It also doesn’t lag and works pretty fine on the updated version of your OS.

Final Verdict on Adobe Creative Cloud

Adobe Creative is one of the best creative solutions with storage in the market. The entire suite is quite useful and comes at a decent price for the service you get.

I especially love the cloud storage feature that it provides and that it helps easy collaboration with other professionals in the business.

It’s important to note that Adobe Creative Cloud is not solely a storage software so it’s not justified to compare it with other storage applications.

The app suite is extremely simple to use and is perfect for professionals. You’ll also have access to upgraded versions of apps without paying any extra bucks.

Therefore, if you’re a professional who uses Twitter as a platform to promote ideology/business or anything related, Adobe CC is worth investing your money in.

They also have a 7-day trial period that you get when you sign up for a subscription. In case you’re not happy with the Adobe Creative Cloud, you can always cancel it.
